Anal skin tags are soft, painless folds of skin near the anus. They often remain after an external hemorrhoid heals and are harmless.

    Skin tags may:
  • Interfere with hygiene
  • Be a cosmetic concern

Most do not require treatment, though removal may be considered in select cases.

When to See a Colorectal Specialist ?

You should schedule an appointment if you experience:
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Pain, swelling, or a lump near the anus
  • Tissue protruding from the anus
  • Persistent itching, irritation, or mucus drainage
  • Difficulty with hygiene
  • Symptoms that do not improve with basic care

Do not assume rectal bleeding is caused by hemorrhoids. A professional evaluation is important.
